About Our Church
St. Mark is a confessional Lutheran Church. We believe that the Bible is the verbally inspired, inerrant, Word of God. We take seriously what it says. The Bible tells us of God’s love to send his Son, Jesus Christ, who was crucified and risen, and who gives meaning and purpose to our lives by removing our sins and extending to us the assurance of a blessed forever in heaven.
Our mission is a mission of love—to share God’s saving Word with everyone and to nurture believers for lives of service to their Lord, as Jesus himself instructs us: “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20).
About Our Synod
The Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) is a church body with more than 400,000 members. The WELS has congregations in all 50 states and conducts a worldwide ministry to more than a dozen nations. We as a Synod have adopted the following mission statement: “As men, women and children united in faith and worship by the Word of God, the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod exists to make disciples throughout the world for time and for eternity, using the Gospel to win the lost for Christ and to nurture believers for lives of Christian service, all to the glory of God.” More information on our synod can be found here.
